General L&Y Railway Enquiries

Chris Leach may be your first port of call for information about the Lanky. As our 'Information Officer' Chris's primary areas of responsibility are the LYRS collections and GMCRO/LYR Study Collection.
If you're not sure where the best place to start in your study of the L&Y is, Chris will get you on the right 'track'.
Click on Chris's face to email him directly.

Photographic & Drawings Collections

Are you researching a locomotive, rolling stock, or possibly one of the many lines in the L&YR system? Perhaps you’re looking for a photograph of the station where your ancestor worked, or a particular view of a locomotive to help you construct a model. Discuss your project with our Drawings and Photographic Officer Kevin Turville and he’ll help identify what is available in our extensive collections and how you can obtain copies. And, if we don’t hold the specific item, then he may be able to offer advice on other avenues of research.
Send Kevin an email by clicking on his face.

Artifact Collections

John Bulmer has responsibility for the Society archives of LYR artifacts other than those mentioned above. The collection includes the likes of original timetables, Acts of Parliament, Leaflets and Flyers.
If you would like to inspect any of these items or acquire copies please contact John by clicking on his face and sending him an email.
