Symposium
In 2000 the Society celebrated is Golden Anniversary. This took the form of a weekend at which members attended seminars, a model railway show, examined displays and artefacts all of which was devoted to the Lanky.
On the Saturday night the committee hosted a dinner at which the speaker was Richard Gibbon the then CME of the National Railway Museum.
Such was the success of this event that the committee decided to repeat the format in 2006 at which over half the membership of the Society attended as well as other visitors.
