The map below dates from the mid 1890's showing the LYR lines in red with running powers in two colours.

It does not include the West Lancashire Railway which was absorbed in 1897, the direct line to Blackpool from Kirkham opened in 1903, nor the Axholme Joint Railway in Lincolnshire built in 1903.
